MOROCCO 12 DAYS ITINERARY FROM CASABLANCA
Our 12-day tour Morocco in Casablanca. Our first stop will be the iconic Hassan II Mosque, a mosque open for all to admire, though not for Muslim prayers. After that, we’ll explore the ancient Medina and the beautiful Corniche.
Next, we’ll head to Rabat. Our tour begins with visits to the Chellah and Hassan Mosques, also known as the Hassan Towers. Following that, we’ll stroll through Oudayas, taking in the historic Medina. The day will conclude with an overnight stay at one of Rabat’s hotels.
During the next part of our 12-day Morocco tour from Casablanca, we’ll head to Asilah and Tangier. Our first stop will be Asilah’s ancient Medina and the beautiful seashore. Afterward, we’ll move on to Tangier, exploring Hericle’s Cave, Cape Spartel, and the American Legation Museum. We’ll take a stroll around the historic Medina before checking in at the hotel.
We’ll embark on a three-hour journey passing through Tetouan to reach the stunning Akchour waterfalls. From there, our next stop will be Chefchaouen, known as Morocco’s blue city. Once you’re settled into your accommodation, you’ll have some leisure time to explore Chefchaouen at your own pace.
We’ll enjoy a half-day in Chaouen before making our way to Meknes later in the day. We’ll explore the Kasbah Museum at Wtat Lhmam Square and take a trek up the Jeb Al-Kalaa. Afterward, our journey will continue from Chaouen to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Finally, we’ll head to Meknes, marking the end of our 12-day Moroccan adventure starting from Casablanca.
Meknes once stood as Morocco’s third capital city. We’ll explore Lhdim Square and Bab Mansour, then venture to Cara’s enigmatic jail. Our journey will lead us to the Shrij Swani pool and Melah, the Jewish quarter. Wrapping up the day, we’ll head to Fes and settle into our riad.
We’ll tour Fes with a local guide. Our journey starts at the King’s Palace and ceramics before heading to Nord Borj, one of Fes’s Borjes. We’ll explore the tanneries, stroll through the historic medina’s streets, and visit the renowned Al Karaouine Institution, the world’s oldest operating university. Additionally, we’ll explore another university, Al Bouaanania.
In our 12-day tour from Casablanca, Merzouga takes the spotlight. Our route from Fes will lead us through the Upper Atlas Mountains, where we’ll first visit Ifran, known as Morocco’s cleanest city, and pause to capture the Atlas Lion monument. Continuing, we’ll journey to the Cedar forest, a habitat where you can spot the local monkeys living amidst the Atlas.
Later in the day, we’ll reach a stunning panoramic view of the date palm valley. Our route will then lead us through Arfoud towards the Merzouga Sahara desert. After settling into our accommodation, we’ll venture out to witness the breathtaking sunset.
Day 8: Merzouga ( Full day to explore Merzouga)
You’ll experience the Sahara’s magic in this segment of our 12-day Morocco tour from Casablanca. Our journey will unveil the nomadic lifestyle, starting with the captivating rhythms of Gnaoua music in Khamlia. We’ll then visit one of Morocco’s mines, Mifis, before venturing off-road to meet Berber families living in traditional tents.
Following a delightful lunch, our route continues to Srij Lake and the enchanting Hassi Labied oasis. Prepare for an unforgettable camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, leading to Berber settlements. As the evening sets in, we’ll create a cozy campfire while relishing Berber melodies. Don’t miss the chance to climb the dunes and gaze upon the mesmerizing Milky Way and starlit sky.
We’ll journey towards Boumaln Dades on this leg of our trip. Our first stop is a Berber clothing cooperative, offering a glimpse into their traditional attire. Next, we’re off to explore the striking Todgha Gorges canyons in Morocco. Along the way, we’ll pause to witness the mountain formations resembling monkey fingers and the captivating bends of Tisdrine. As the day draws to a close, we’ll escort you to Dades for a restful night.
Today, we’ll journey through the High Atlas Mountains en route to Marrakech. Our first stops are Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou, famous for their roles as movie backdrops—scenes from films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed here. Continuing through the highlands, we’ll pause at a scenic viewpoint and an argan oil cooperative. Finally, we’ll reach Marrakech and take you to your hotel.
During our trip to Marrakech, a local guide will join us and start the journey from your hotel in the morning. Our itinerary includes stops at Jamaa El Fana Square, the Kotobia Mosque, and explorations of the Menara and Majorelle gardens. We’ll also visit Bahia Palace and Saadien’s Tombs. Later in the afternoon, you’ll have free time to wander around Marrakech.
We’ll travel from Marrakech to Casablanca via the motorway. You get to decide whether you prefer to be dropped off at the airport or in the heart of Casablanca. That marks the end of our 12-day Morocco tour from Casablanca.
